I though of doing just a big video game thread, but then I figured the LoZ verse is so large that it really deserves its own thread. This is meant to be a discussion thread about anything and everything involving the LoZ games, including asking for help if you're stuck in a game.

Here are some questions just for thought if you have nothing else to say.

I've been playing Zelda since I got Twilight Princess in 2005 (or was it 2006?). I then bought Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for Wii through the Wii store and am currently in the Forest Temple in OoT and have just barely gotten through the first three days in MM. My favorite game so far is Skyward Sword which I got for Christmas, and I'm pretty close to the end (I'm collecting pieces of the Song of Time after having got the triforce). My favorite character is Ghiraham from SS, who incidentally is also my favorite boss. He's so creepy and flamboyant and interesting. As for my favorite temple, that would have to be either the Sandship or Lanayru Mining Facility (from SS) and my least favorite is the Forest Temple from OoT because I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. Ugh.

Also, I kind of love the music from Zelda, and SS has the most stunning soundtrack. Here are some of my favorite tracks. Be warned - there are many. Post yours!

I don't remember exactly what game I started with, but I know I've been playing since I was like five? Which was 11 years ago (I feel old LOL). But yeah, I'm personally such a fan of the graphics and the music especially. The Legend of Zelda is one of my staple games and a huge part of my childhood, so I'm hoping there'll be a lot more games to this series in the future.

But in the Twilight Princess, it's my ultimate favorite because I loved how engaging the storyline was. Midna was awesome, aha, and the missions were not ridiculously hard, but not super easy either. Some I needed the Youtube walkthroughs for, and others I could finish pretty easily.

Haha, I suck so bad at Twilight Princess. I think I'm still in the Goron Mines... I break that thing about about twice a year, have a crack at it, and end up not progressing at all. I've been at the same spot for a couple years now. XD Then again, I don't really try.

In other news, it took me FOREVER to destroy all the eyes coming out of ~ possessed Levias. I am so bad at flying. It took me about 15 tries to pass the target practice test. >_<

Oh my god, oh my god. I have so much love for these games. I've been playing since Ocarina of Time came out and it basically defined my childhood. I think it was one of the first "real" video games I'd ever played. Even now, I find myself constantly lost in thought over the characters and the world. I don't really know what it is, but I'm so attached. The music is so relaxing to me and anytime I listen to it, NOSTALGIA WAVE!! When I was skiing this winter, I heard a song (Midnight City - M83) being played at the chairlift and wondered why it sounded so familiar. Then I realized that it sounded quite like the music in the Forest Temple (and also how much I play this game ).

So original, but Link is my favourite. He's just so super cool, duh! But I also quite like Malon, Sheik, and the Gerudos. OH, and Tingle

I have my N64 set up and I play OoT and Majora's Mask all the way through at least once a year. I also have Spirit Tracks, which I haven't finished, and I'm halfway through Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the GameCube. They're all so good, but I always revert to the N64.

Actually, a few days ago I ordered some paintings (one, two) of Link and Skull Kid off of Etsy and I can't wait for them to arrive.

So yeah. I like this game.

Katie, PLAY SKYWARD SWORD. I'm not kidding when I say it's fabulous and flawless. The graphics are stunning and the game play is incredible.

Now I'm trying to do all the gratitude crystal quests in SS. No me gusta. This is taking forever.

I'm on the final boss of Skyward Sword. I'VE ALMOST BEAT THE GAME! Though I won't be able to start another until I come back home during Christmas, which should I focus on next: Ocarina of Time (I'm in the Forest Temple), Majora's Mask (close to the beginning), or Twilight Princess (Goron Mines)?

Ocarina of Time fo sho. Such a magical game! You don't need to play it before MM, but it may give you a little context and help you draw some parallels between the two!

Thread revival. Wow, it's been a while.

When I was young, I couldn't actually get into these games. I preferred non-sword adventure games (less scary! XD), but I did have Ocarina of Time on N64. I guess I couldn't figure it out, and none of my family really got into it. Nevertheless, we bought Wind Waker on the GameCube (and it came with Ocarina of Time as well). Still, we didn't play it that much. The prison freaked me out and I just couldn't get past it. My dad was the only one who ever made any progress in any of the games (and possibly my brother at some point).

Fastforward to now. I'm in my second year of uni and I brought up my TV and the spare Wii (long story, but yeah, my family had two) to the house I'd be living in. I didn't bring many games, and I saw Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword at a pretty low price. I was intrigued because of this thread, but because of my earlier history with the games, I decided to buy just one. As Twilight Princess was cheaper, I went for that. I played it for a few days, and really enjoyed it. Then work got on top of me, and I stopped.

Yesterday I decided to play it again. I'm at Death Mountain, just before going into the Goron Mines. So same place as you in that one, Rosabeth!

Omg Mollianne, GET SKYWARD SWORD. DO IT. It is the greatest. It seriously does not get enough love because I absolutely adore it and never got stuck like in all the other games. Gah, I cannot speak highly enough of it. Besides, the Wii controls are infinitely better for SS than for TP. I love being able to swing the sword by swinging the remote.

GAME UPDATE: I am at the very end of SS just before fighting the final boss and I was going to finish before I got to school but then I forgot so I have that to look forward to during Christmas break. I made a little progress in TP but I'm still in the Goron Mines. No progress has been made in OT because I hate the Forest Temple with a burning passion.

I can swing the remote to make the sword swing in TP. But yeah. XD

But I definitely intend to get Skyward Sword. It sounds great, and the music sounds awesome. It's on my Christmas list (along with Sims games, so there goes revision during break for my exams XD).

Whaaaat? I didn't think TP did that. Did they revamp it? Maybe I've just heard a lot of complaints about it being inaccurate and not always synced. I don't know, I have it for GameCube so I don't really know the differences.

You better get it. If you do not get it I will not stop reminding you.

Yeah, on the GameCube you wouldn't be able to, I suppose. It can be a bit slow to react, but I guess since I've not played SS I don't really know how much better it can be. XD I WILL DO, and I give you permission to remind me if I don't.

I FINALLY BEAT OoC's FOREST TEMPLE I AM CRYING AND WEEPING IN JOY.

I almost got through the Fire Temple before falling off the edge in the room where you get the hammer and dying when I hit the floor because I only had half a heart left. :/ The one thing I hate about this dungeon is that all the puzzles reset when you leave the room. :/ Also, I'll have to go through the stupid boulder maze again. I like the concept of that maze except that I never remember which way I should go. Though I suppose now that I have the compass it should be easier. At least I won't have to beat the Fire Dancer again because that was just a bitch.

You guys.... *sigh* such new players to the zelda legacy.. I've been playing since 94 on the first two zeldas for the NES. When we finally got an N64, I started playing OOT and MM (both of which I beat over, and over, and over again lol) and for the hardcore fans, I can beat masterquest just as easy as the actual OOT . I've played TP and seen others play farther into the story... it makes me mad. And skyward sword disappoints me only because it seems so much different a world than the other Zeldas... at least to me. I recognize it as an amazing game don't get me wrong, but it still disappoints me. Now the real question... who's played Link to the Past or the Oracle of Ages/Seasons? ^_^
