Bryony and I were working on a PB together, back on the old site, and I thought it was the type of the idea that could be expanded to include more people. Something that wasn’t possible on the old site.
The idea revolves around a Steampunk setting. If you don’t know what steampunk is, it’s like speculative fantasy/sci-fi, where the industrial world never progressed to electricity, and instead steam and clockwork kept advancing. So you have this Victorian style world, with technology that’s both primitive and advanced that the same time.
The general plot is there are two warring countries (kinda stand-ins for France and England) separated by a sea. The queen of one of the nations hires some aire-pirates (just like regular pirates, except the ships fly) to kidnap the princess of the other country, so she has a hostage she can use. Originally we were going to have the pirates accidentally kidnap the wrong girl, but it could be reworked so they kidnap the princess and someone else (her servant? friend? bodyguy?). We only got that far when the site went down, so the rest is all up for plotting!
There’s a potential to make lots of characters important, but for the sake of keeping things easy and making sure everyone has a relevant role, I’d so no more than five people (that’s including me and Bryony).
We want people who are willing to communicate with us and discuss ideas, who can post weekly on average, and can write more-or-less about 500 words in a post. Of course, we’ll try to follow these guidelines too, since that’s only fair.
