Quills and Ink Guidelines
Hello, writer! Have a work you'd like us to read? Then you're in the right place. Be it a work of prose or a poem, we want to see what you've done. Or, maybe you're not 100% positive on a word you used but like the rest. You can go ahead and request a little critique! (If you want more extensive critiques done for your work, we have a place for that too.)
Perhaps you just read a poem by Jamaal May and you feel the need to share it. Or you read the script for Juno and want to see how other people feel about it. This is the place to do just that! (Just remember to give credit when credit is due.)
This is the place to share all literary work.
What's the difference between this board and the Scattered Paper or Reading Corner board?
The main difference is the question of how far. In this board, it's more for surface questions, such as, "I'm uncertain of my style at this point" or "what should the name of my character be?" If you want to think more in-depth, such as "what do you perceive is my message when I say this sentence," that is more appropriate for a critique group in the Scattered Paper board.
Same goes with other works. If you want to talk about how sad Night by Elie Wiesel was, this is the place to do it. To talk about the impact of his work on other people would be more appropriate for a Book Club discussion.
I have an unspecific question about writing/literature. Where does this go?
Here, in this main board! If you have a general question, like what genre people tend to like, or you'd like to see how many people like Harry Potter vs Twilight, or you're curious to see who writes in third and first person, this is the right spot.
If it's specific to a type of writing, such as you'd like to look at a specific poem, feel free to post it in the appropriate sub-board.
Questions, comments, feedback? Feel free to post here. In the meantime, show us your stuff!
