What are the Open Roleplay Rules?
These rules are structured very similarly to the Roleplay Room rules. The following rules are copy-pasted directly from the Roleplay Room's rules.
1. Roleplay avatars & other roleplay images must contain personally made (drawings, photography, etc), of a public domain (a famous person's picture like you would find through google), or someone else's creation if you have their permission (expressed and written or in their license - like creative commons).
IV. You can have other people make your avatar and images for you, but they must agree to you using it and the image still must not violate the rules given above.[/ul]
2. Roleplay posts must have a minimum of 100 words. You should be trying to go for quality over quantity, but 100 words is barely even enough to get a plot moving forward. We are implementing this rule to help the stories. There is no maximum word count.
3. Remember the Rights of the Wanderers and do not violate them.
4. Your roleplay characters can be any age but do not place children in un-childlike atmospheres (aka smoking marijuana). Be realistic, not scandalous for the purpose of scandal.
5. As mentioned in the Rights of Wanderers, we must also abide by Proboards' Terms of Service. The Objectionable Content Parameters are as follows:
6. With the Proboards ToS, it is required that we do not have mature themes in roleplay.
7. Do not take complete control over another person's character, including killing them, unless that person says it's okay for you to do that. In addition, your posts cannot be composed entirely of netspeak.
The following rules are completely unique to Open Roleplay
8. You may have as many ORP characters as you would like. Quality does rule over quantity, but we will not restrict the number of characters you'd like to have.
9. Your characters may not, in any capacity, ever possess a magic that can take control of another's character, read minds, bend the rules of time or physics or otherwise take control of another's character by limiting their abilities. In our ORP world, these magics are simply not possible.
10. Unless distinctly described through Chance, your character cannot overly affect the lives of any non-playable characters including but not limited to: killing them, mutilating them to the point they cannot perform their duties or ruining their career and/or influence.
If you are found to violate these rules, you will be initially warned. If the violations continue or if these violations are extreme, the responses will be harsher. If they are bad enough, you will be prohibited (at least temporarily) from roleplaying, and all the way up to a permanent ban from the site (which is rare but possible).
